Sunset on the Bukit Peninsula

Bali’s most southerly point, with its promontory completely encapsulated by the Indian Ocean, is the Bukit Peninsula. This area faces due west so there is nowhere better to catch the last rays of sun on a glorious day. It is also world famous as being one of the beaches in Bali where you can catch near perfect waves.
A rugged limestone platform forms the top of the peninsula and, near the coast, drops suddenly in sharp cliffs to the ocean below. Delightful hidden beaches are accessed via steps down the cliff face emerging on to narrow strips of golden sand .It’s a dramatic foreground to the raging ball of sun when it descends below the horizon each night.
