A Village of Artisans

Just south of Ubud, on the far side of the famed Monkey Forest, lies the enchanting village of Nyuh Kuning. Surrounded by shimmering rice fields, edged by delightful gardens and away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud, this atmospheric local artists community is the perfect place to learn about individual crafts.
Watch the artists at work while our guide explains the techniques and processes used in each traditional craft. The village is also a great place to see a current-day Balinese community with its homes and school. Back in the heart of Ubud, the Royal Palace demonstrates how these arts and crafts have been used over the centuries and how the past still influences Bali’s working artisans.
